1. Collecto - how to use

This service of collective taxi’s or “shared taxi’s”, is organised by the Brussels-Capital Region. It is provided by conventional taxis that group up to 4 passengers wishing to travel together into the same direction.

COLLECTO is very flexible: you step in at one of the 200 pick-up places located at the STIB stops, marked by a sign like the one above, and you step out wherever you want within the Brussels Capital Region.

Select your Collecto departure point using the Collecto table with pictures or via the Interactive Google Map with Street View.The complete list of collection points in .pdf format can be downloaded here

This service is available from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., 7 days a week. Collective taxis are scheduled to leave from the departure point on the hour or at 30 minutes past the hour (e.g. 01.00, 01.30, etc…). Orders can be placed 24/7.

The price for the journey is paid when boarding the taxi:
- 6 € per passenger
- 5 € for STIB or MOBIB cardholders

The driver will ask for the name under wich you made the booking. Be at the “Collecto” departure point at the time agreed with the operator. Be sharp on time, like buses, Collecto taxi’s cannot wait fo you.

Any request for cancellation must be done, at least 20 minutes prior to your departure time, and from the same mobile phone number as the one used to place the order.

Call 02/800 36 36 at least 20 minutes prior to your departure time. Give the information below to the phone operator:
- Your name and home address
The departure point you have selected from the list of specified Collecto stops. To avoid misunderstandings, give its number.
- The time when you wish to take your collective taxi, on the hour or at 30 minutes past the hour (e.g. 01.00, 01.30…).
- The number of passengers travelling to the SAME destination (1,2,3 or maximum 4)
The exact address of the destination you are travelling to within the Brussels-Capital-Region.

Requests for each passenger must be made separately unless the point of departure AND the destination are identical for everyone.

Note that once routes and stops are set, no changes can be made.

Once you have used Collecto, your name, address and phone number will be known, which enables you to place your next orders via SMS or via the Collecto automated phone ordering system and hence avoid potential queuing at the phone.

2. Order your Collecto by SMS



To be able to use this new service you must have ordered a Collecto at least once from your mobile number.

If it is already the case, please have a look at the video above or at the instructions hereunder.

Place your order by SMS at ✆ 0493/49.49.49

To book you Collecto, send a SMS (usual price) in the below format:

Number of passengers • Time • N° of Collecto departure point • Name • Street name and house n° of destination • Postal code of destination

The SMS is composed of 6 sections, each separated by a dot «•»

1: Number of passengers who will depart from the same Collecto point to the same destination (1, 2, 3 or max. 4)
2: Time in four digits (2330 for 11:30pm, 2400 for midnight, 0030 for half past one, 0200 for 2am…)
3: Number of Collecto departure point. E.g.: 0006 for Anneessens; 0127 for Meiser…
4: Name. Your family name, maximum twelve characters
5: Street name and House n° of destination. Street name, written in full with spaces, but without accents and abbreviations, followed by the House n°. The destination must be located in one of the 19 districts of Brussels.
6: Postal code/Zip code of the Brussels district of destination, in 4 digits

Example: Four people at 11:30 pm, located at the COLLECTO departure point 0034 (Bourse), with name Durant, want to go to avenue Louise 624, in 1050 Brussels/Ixelles

SMS « 4•2330•0034•Durand•avenue Louise 624•1050 »

Note that there are no empty spaces just before and after the dots

Confirm your order by sending 22 at ✆ 0493/49 49 49

Once you have sent your SMS, and if its format is correct, you will receive a free validation SMS from the type:

« 4 pers at 23:30, stop 0034 Place de la Bourse n° 1 in 1000 Brussels, to avenue Louise 624, 1050»

To confirm you booking, send 22 at ✆ 0493/49 49 49 (usual price). Do not use the standard “Reply” option of your mobile as you might send your confirmation to the wrong number.

Before confirming, thoroughly check the Collecto station number, the destination, and the number of persons for this same destination. The COLLECTO driver cannot and will not deviate from the planned route. Once you have confirmed your order, you will receive a second free text message stating that your booking has been registered.

If you made a mistake, do not confirm by sending “22″ but simply resend a corrected SMS.

Note that once you confirmed your order, COLLECTO will not respond to any other SMS from your mobile phone for an hour. You are still able to reach the Collecto call-centre at 02/800 36 36 however.

3. Order your Collecto by SMS - favorite address

The SHORT SMS version is even easier. Only use this service if your destination matches the favorite (primary) address recorded in the Collecto database with your mobile number. This address would usualy be your home or workplace adress. If you have any doubts about your favorite Collecto address, call the Collecto disptaching first at 02/800 36 36.

To place your order, send a simplified SMS as per the below format:

Number of passengers • Time • N° of Collecto departure point

Example: Four people at 11:30 pm, located at the COLLECTO departure point 0034 (Bourse), with name Durant, want to go to avenue Louise 624, in 1050 Brussels/Ixelles(*)
